In Monaco, the seasons can come and go as they please: what matters is that we’re having fun. Although the Principality is full of things to do all year round, summer is unquestionably the best time to explore the city. This year, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer is inviting you to head outdoors for a breath of fresh air with its new On the Air programme, full of outings, food and drink, al fresco relaxation, watery fun and more! Summer holiday-makers, get ready to get out and about in the Mediterranean sunshine and enjoy a whole host of activities in and around Monaco.
Go wild for the biggest international stars in Monaco this summer
The Monte-Carlo Summer Festival is THE musical event of the summer! In July and August, top acts will be performing in some of the Principality’s most exclusive venues: find Pink Martini and Imany at the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo, and the Black Eyed Peas, James Blunt and Christina Aguilera in the Salle des Étoiles. Alicia Keys will also be making her long-awaited stage comeback too, with a concert for the Monaco Red Cross Gala in the legendary Place du Casino. An incredible line-up that’s sure to keep us on the edge of our seats all summer long!
Enjoy summer fun in the water
With its prime position on the Mediterranean coast, a trip to Monaco is all about having fun in the water. With its sand-bottomed lagoon, Bali beds, Floating Breakfast service, Sea Bay area and more, the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort offers guests an abundance of activities (some more laid-back than others!) for really making the most of a day or weekend at the seaside. As for the Monte-Carlo Beach – the ultimate summer hotel – the heated sea water Olympic pool is a Monegasque icon, not to mention the perfect place to relax with friends or family as you sit back and watch the diving. Alternatively, get your own endorphins flowing with an aquagym or aquabike session. From the Cabanas, you can enjoy the heavenly solitude of a freshly remodelled private beach, complete with a brand-new layer of gorgeous white sand. Leisure is not something we take lightly around here! If it’s fun you’re looking for, you’ll find it at the Monte-Carlo Beach, where there’s a wide range of water sports to enjoy. Last but not least, guests at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo can enjoy exclusive use of the cabanas and sunbathing facilities at the Wellness Sky Club: a luxurious haven of wellbeing on the hotel’s roof terrace, complete with a private pool and unrivalled views of the harbour and old town…
Have fun like never before
Experience the fun of gaming to its fullest extent this summer, with the unique programme of events put together for you by the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer casinos. When we say unique, we mean it: look no further than the Live Roulette version of French Roulette we’ve got planned… In the Salon Touzet at the legendary Casino de Monte-Carlo, eight comfortable touchscreen gaming areas await you for a spot of fun in the ultimate Monte-Carlo surroundings. When you’re ready for a break, enjoy a moment out on the terrace to take your Monte-Carlo experience to the next level.
New in Monaco for this year is the chance to play al fresco on the terrace of the Casino Café de Paris, and enter the On the Air Big Game from 15 June to 15 July. Come and take a gamble – and who knows, with plenty of prizes to be won you might just get lucky!
Experience the highs of hot summer nights
Of course there are the casinos, the Michelin-starred restaurants and the prestigious landmarks, but don’t forget that Monaco has also got a reputation as one of the hottest nightlife destinations around. So as the temperatures soar this summer, come and enjoy cool nights out – Monaco-style! The Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer bars are also looking forward to giving you the best possible welcome and kicking off your evening in Monaco as only they know how.
Get the party started with a cocktail looking out over Place du Casino, in the cool of the Jardins des Boulingrins at the Mada Lounge’s summer residence, where you can expect chic, offbeat vibes and live music every Thursday evening. At the lounge-style Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo, enjoy a menu showcasing a variety of Eastern and Western flavours. Or, at COYA Monte-Carlo, check out the new A Taste of Lima bar and its range of Peruvian street food, a fresh take on the vibrant fusion food that has proved so popular over the last few years. If you’re after a more private affair then book Coyancha, the bar’s new concept space. It’s the perfect secret spot for wild parties and celebrations with friends and family – think dinner, dancing, and incredible shows! Not far from there at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, the Blue Gin is another dream spot: sip a signature cocktail on the vast terrace, and enjoy superb views of the Mediterranean. You can also let your hair down at all sorts of themed evenings here, like the popular Havana Night – good times are guaranteed! The parties in the picturesque surroundings of the hotel’s lagoon are also a great night, and definitely not to be missed. Finally, the idyllic Balinese-inspired La Vigie Lounge & Restaurant will be reopening on 24 June, so you can celebrate summer under the stars with friends or that special someone.
Celebrate fine dining every day of the week
With 7 Michelin stars to its name, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer resort is continually reinventing the art of hospitality, and is now inviting you to share in its chefs’ endless inspiration. Come to Monaco this summer and indulge in a high-end fine dining experience on the terrace of Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse à l’Hôtel de Paris. Sampling the daring cuisine that earned Marcel Ravin and his team their second Michelin star is also a must: take a seat on the Blue Bay’s sweeping terrace at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, and enjoy Mediterranean and Caribbean flavours alongside stunning sea views.
That’s not all: when it comes to our restaurants, we have plenty more surprises in store for you this summer.
Pavyllon Monte-Carlo, a restaurant by Yannick Alléno, has arrived at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, showcasing excellence and modernity and pushing the boundaries of Monaco’s fine dining scene. Inside, amidst decor by interior designer Chahan Minassian, the sweeping counter fronts an open kitchen, encouraging guests to share in a fun, friendly dining experience. This summer, the terrace – inspired by a Mediterranean garden – will become a dream setting for enjoying delicious dishes that showcase the best of local ingredients and are designed to nourish both mind and body.
Another culinary voyage awaits you at the brand-new Em Sherif Monte-Carlo, which has just opened at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. The prestigious, palatial hotel is heading east this time, with traditional yet elegant Lebanese food taking centre stage. The terrace, complete with breath-taking sea views, adds a further layer of charm to the experience, and the shisha bar offers up the perfect spot to sit back and relax.
At the Monte-Carlo Beach, chef Mélanie Serre is taking the helm at Elsa, continuing to serve up fully organic food and locally-caught fish. It’s the ideal location in which to discover the high-precision, hearty food of this young, passionate chef, who has trained under culinary greats such as the incredible Joël Robuchon. Mediterranean vegetables and seafood are the stars of her elegantly-crafted dishes.
Last but not least – and for a limited time only – find the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo in the superb Salle Empire at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. The famous brasserie-esque restaurant has relocated across the Place du Casino while its long-time home is given a little TLC. The terrace also offers stunning views you quite simply won’t find anywhere else – all in the vibrant surroundings of Monaco in summer.
